About the role
We are looking for a Production Test Engineer to join one of Norway’s most innovative technology environments. In this role, you will work with advanced test systems and methodologies to ensure the highest quality of our products, collaborating closely with skilled cross-functional teams. At Appear, you’ll be part of a collaborative development environment with over 100 engineers across hardware, software, and FPGA. We work closely together to solve challenges, share knowledge, and push the boundaries of media and broadcasting technology.

If you have programming skills (ideally Python), an interest in digital electronics, and enjoy working hands-on in an electronics lab, you’ll thrive here. We’re looking for team players eager to learn and collaborate in an international setting.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine test specifications with the Hardware team, in collaboration with Software and FPGA teams
• Develop automated function tests using Python and NI TestStand to validate hardware assembly and ensure product quality
• Support production site engineers with test implementation and troubleshooting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or equivalent
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python
• Familiarity with one or more of the following is a plus: NI TestStand, Linux (Bash), Git, electronic lab measurement equipment, IP networking
• Experience reading hardware documentation such as schematics, datasheets, and PCB layouts
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

From day one, you’ll be onboarded with the support of a dedicated mentor and included in ongoing product development. By your first month, your contributions will be part of a product release. By the end of your first year, you’ll have helped shape solutions delivered to some of the world’s largest TV operators.
